Wipro Layoff

I am working for one of the top Indian IT companies (Wipro Technologies) for more than 2 years as a Team Leader. I have spotless records until now and I was elevated as a manager few months back. During an informal discussion with my Supervisor, he said “Show me your balls and I have to batter you”. On account of maltreatment, I filed a harassment complaint against my supervisor. HR personnel just ignored my complaint. My company has an internal grievance procedure(Ombudsman) that takes care of these concerns and the outcome of this grievance hasn’t been disclosed yet. Few days after this incident, suddenly the Technical manager said he is not satisfied with my performance because of which he is releasing me from the project. Investigation by the HR folks was not transparent. Now they have terminated me though I was not guilty. No notice period was given. Since I have also filed a complaint against my supervisor, will termination be considered as retaliation?
As reported, in excess of 15000 employees were sacked similarly. Another 5000 on the bench are treated as surplus and may be terminated or asked to quit. My view is that WIPRO is becoming second Satyam and very soon it will be acquired by some other company as it is not transparent in its actions many people are becoming victims of persecution and vengeance in the name of recession

I predicted the values going down and opted to leave Wipro prior all ‘Bad game’ started. My sympathy is for those who affected by layoff at Wipro pray god to resolve their financial risk that materialized due to loss of job.Lay off is not solution for the problem . Due to financial crunch position , we don’t throw away anybody from home.
There are always better solution to the problems.Certainly,layoff is not right solution.
Experience matter alot in IT industry.Loosing best people is the loss which will not gained so easily and with the same credit and spirit.

Am an ex-employee of Wipro and recently left this dirty company fortunately… Most of the Technical Managers and Delivery Managers in Wipro are sitting and eating happily… And for performance reasons firing the innocent and hard working Techies…In fact most of Technical Managers in wipro are not technical and they are like Brokers.. they do all sorts of politics.. cheatings… If Premiji will not open his eyes atleast now, yah.. definetly WIPRO will become another SATYAM… no doubt..

No yaar.. Wipro is a huge company. Mr.Premji will not be able to go into such details and find the BUG :). But somehow the things should reach to Premji, may be in a hard way.
I think that will happen soon. When many victims start filing case, Mr. Premji would become reachable.

It has been more than 1 year since Wipro laid off more than 15000 employees under guise of non performance

a)Suresh vaswani—Known as the right ball of Premji.Will keep things in place for Rishad to take over.Works thru coterie of Mumbai Regional office.b)Girish Paranjpe-Only claim to fame is as an accountant.does NOT KNOW ANY PIECE OF TECHNOLOGYc)Suresh Senapaty-Knows all of PREMJI Financial secrets.Will be kept on despite one of the biggest frauds committed by an insider in corporate historyd)Kurien-Known for destroying every business division in Wipro for which he was responsiblee)Pratik Kumar-Responsible for the biggest HR layoffs in corporate history of 15000 people and keeping it quite till it surfaces in blogs like these.f)Anand Padmanabhan-Known for only taking notes in CIO meetings in LOndon.Last CIO level presentation would have been made only in his sleepg)Anand Sankaran- Brainless and Immature.Known to be close to Vaswani.gOVT AND telecoms DEALS R BLEEDING THE BOTTOM line.Has team of reportees who do not know technology or customers.Cannot stand up to any CIO in the country
h)Sambudha dEB-waiting FOR HIS RETIREMENT BENEFITS
i)Manoj Punja-Who knows what he does in USA?Will not find even a clerical job if he is asked to leave Wipro.
j)Martha bejar-Will leave Wipro within next 2-3 months

Amazing that these people were so brainless trying to keep one of the biggest layoffs in corporate history under wraps.
Did underestimate the power of the internet
R now facing 50% attrition rate.
